- Each week’s loser deported to CECOT.
- There’s a lot of reasons why Trump shouldn’t get a $400M gift from a foreign govt, but ‘what are we, a bunch of poors?!’ Just doesn’t seem like a good one to me. I like Rep Lieu, too, just not this take.
- I like how comment threads on any even moderately popular post on here now just begin with ‘My good man, you have left off [issue that is important to me].’ And then the rest of the comments just debate whether or not it is correct to leave off that issue, and completely ignore the original post.
- I know a lady who named her 12 yr old daughter ‘Luna’ after a character in the Harry Potter novels and now constantly apologizes ‘I named her before we knew she was transphobic.’ Like a walking Tesla bumper sticker saying you bought the car before the Nazi salute or whatever.
- Oh thank God!
- I know at this point this article has been discussed to death (the curse of working during the day) but for my dissertation I’m working on a tool to detect bias in AI. This is a really good demonstration of why it’s needed.
- Reposted by Melissa IngleLet's talk about these two department store owners: brother and sister Louis Bamberger and Caroline Bamberger Fuld. From Newark, New Jersey. They are random people, basically. But in the late 1920s, with fascism taking over Europe, they made a choice that profoundly changed the world: 🧵
- Hey all - there’s about 50 M adults in the US alone that have some degree of hearing loss. Please try to remember to add captions to your videos whenever possible, thanks!
- Chief Justice John Roberts described the rule of law as “endangered” and warned against “trashing the justices,” but didn’t point fingers directly at Donald Trump for publicly excoriating judges who’ve ruled against him. Look, trashing SCOTUS may be the ONLY thing Trump does that I agree with.
- Idiot causes problem, wants credit for solving it.
- Could one of you all finish making this presentation for me so I can go to bed?
- Saw Thunderbolts - a new take for the Avengers that I thought mostly worked. Centering depression as the main enemy was an interesting (good) choice. But I found the team a bit flat. There are 3 Capt America variants: Winter Soldier, Russian, and asshole and that left the action a bit boring to me.
