Destroyed buildings in a war has nothing to do with whether a crime was committed or not.
According to international humanitarian law Israel has the right to keep fighting until the threat is fully gone - by elimination or surrender. Just like with Ukraine vs Russia.
That same international law says that it's a war crime to target civilians or destroy civilian infrastructure like hospitals or to refuse aid and supplies such as food and water. All of which have been well-documented as having occurred.
Yes, it is a war crime to deliberately attack civilians. It is not a war crime to target combatants leading to destroyed buildings and collateral deaths.
Hospitals can be attacked if used militarily, which Hxmas does all the time, as long as you give warnings - which Israel does again and again.
Agreed. And food? Surely you don't think starving the civilian population is acceptable given those same humanitarian rules you were citing?
No, starving a population is not legal, and if that really goes on it should be stopped immediately. But moving them out of harms way while conducting military operations is fully legal - as is occupying territory after a war for a reasonable time. But annexation is illegal.
May 9, 2025 18:31What do you mean “if that really goes on”?
Have you not been paying attention? It’s not like Israel is denying the fact that they’ve blocked all aid for quite some time now.
Quick Google shows it’s been since 2 March 2025. Did you have two months of food stored up 2 months ago?
