- How it started (having a book funeral)// How it's going (having a book funeral but we're hotter now)
- Reposted by Kyra Nelson🌟UPCOMING AUCTION 🌟 I'm grateful to the writing community for launching a literary auction on May 9 to help my survival. Please boost and participate. Stay tuned for the link in the next few days. 👀 In the meantime, here’s a teaser of what’s being offered:
- I've been quiet about publishing lately, but if you're wondering how it's going for me, I'm actually planning two book funerals at the moment soooooo....
- Several years ago when I bought a black veil for a book funeral and that seemed excessive, but it's proven to be a very good investment.
- Very proud of this arc and excited the full thing is out now. I particularly love the balance of combat and mundane high school life things in this volume. We had so much fun making it.
- Cats are such normal little guys.
- Me: [has not had a functioning microwave for the past two weeks] Me, every evening for the past week: I have the most unusual craving for popcorn
- Like dang I've had boxes of strawberries that stay fresh longer than some publishing trends.
- idk sometimes it feels like publishing is bad for every genre except Genre of the Month and it's like I can't have something ready to strike in Genre of the Month, I don't even write Genre of the Month.
- You ever just see someone and want to know their life story? For instance, the person in front of me at the ice cream shop ordered coffee flavored ice cream with gummy bears mixed in and I just want to know how they ended up at that point in life.

- Walk of shame but it's me going back to the grocery store because I didn't get everything I needed the first time.
- Reposted by Kyra NelsonSomeone crashed a car into our local bookstore last night. It's Independent Bookstore Day. 📚 If you're looking to support a local business, might I suggest The Book Jewel thebookjewel.com
- Reposted by Kyra NelsonHello friends, I've been hit with an emergency bill, so I'm opening up a few slots for editorial services. I'll cover the details in thread but would appreciate any shares. I'm a Tessera Editorial alum, have several short fiction credits, and have helped several writers with their query materials.
- If you're looking for a place to support for Indie Bookstore Day, I can't recommend Kindred Stories enough. A Black-owned bookstore focused on books by Black authors. Their collection is so thoughtfully curated, and you can buy online if you're not in Houston. kindredstorieshtx.com
- Something I've had cooking for awhile! This is my first time GMing a whole arc, and I'm so excited for this one. It's got candy-themed monsters, a queer meet-cute, future career angst, a wild Joe appearance, and of course bff shenanigans.

- Thank you instagram for suggesting "Drugs Talkin" by Lil Baby as a good audio track to pair with this picture of a bird I embroidered.
- Something fun I've been working on and am excited about. I'm officially taking over as producer at WWC. And Friday my first full arc as GM comes out. If you've ever wanted to see Candyland reimagined as horror, consider checking it out.

- Recently read and enjoyed: Cash Delgado is Living the Dream by Tehlor Kay Mejia
- My dad has decided he is planting 40 tomato plants this year and will not take constructive feedback.
- Anyway, happy #InternationalAsexualityDay! I'm proudly ace. I write books with ace characters and play an overtly ace character on @wwcomicspodcast.bsky.social.
- Feeling an extra sense of trans/ace solidarity today for no particular reason at all.
- Lots of love to the trans and nonbinary folk I'm privileged to know. I love you so much, and I'm going to keep showing up for you in all the ways I can 💖
- Recycling my thread of alternate resources to NaNo from the other place 🧵 For context, I have "won" #NaNoWriMo ten times and previously collaborated with them on their official channel. I'm no longer involved with them (and haven't been for awhile).
- Assorted images of Kat Brekker "helping" me write my book.
- Did some really important worldbuilding today* *gave a character a Jersey accent
- We have a new guy on my team at work and one of us is going to have to explain that everyone under our manager, Joe, works out of a shared folder which we call the Jolder.
- My coauthor is great because she puts up with me sending her "plot ideas" when I've had negative three hours of sleep
- Cats are natural predators. If you look really closely here, you can see mine using the nearby foliage as a hiding spot.
- My coauthor (very silly): Do you think we can pitch our book as Severance x Emily Wilde Me (just as silly): absolutely
