I remember Netflix saying that interactive media was the future of their brand. They gave up on it like Google gave up on Stadia.
How it started / how it's going
May 7, 2025 18:01The idea was kind of weird, but it wasn't that bad. It's just that it's a totally different experience from watching TV or a movie and half-way through video games and passive tv shows. Ironically, Netflix pivoted to promoting a lot of mobile games for some reason.
It also required a lot more work to set up to Netflix's design, and couldn't be as interactive as if you were making a full video game. I assume most viewers just didn't care to commit to something like it when they open Netflix to watch a tv show without having to do much.
