my tv had talladega nights as the advertised roku free movie when i turned it on so i guess im finally watching this for the first time
“you’ve never seen it and you literally work at nascar-“ i was raised on cars the movie and the indy 500
this already has more accurate race car physics than most racing movies i’ve seen
extra points for actually going to most of these locations? and getting the broadcasters? i mean i’ve eaten at that talladega hot dog stand i know that’s real
incredible levels of commitment to the montage, just really understanding that they don’t have to care about making it make sense
I think this is supposed to be an outrageous comedy? I mean it’s satirical but it’s uh, not wrong on most things
how is this the movie with a greater dedication to visual accuracy than ford v ferrari
i mean this is really not my humor and i probably wouldn’t watch it otherwise but im just in awe at the level of commit from every team, track, sponsor and broadcaster here
even the intentionally ridiculous charlotte crash is pretty accurate down to the detached wheel causing it to flip
May 13, 2025 22:54karen the dodgy cougar puppet is automatically the best character in this entire movie
if you rewrite the dialogue and change nothing else visually or plot wise this is a solid drama. SVG was not wrong when he called it a documentary
would watch a serious version of this movie over the F1 movie
final verdict: it was fine but boy, the best way to make a comedy that is making fun of an entire sport is to also obviously have so much love and care for that sport that it’s more accurate than any other racing movie even though it didn’t have to be
will ferrell was punching sideways, not down
also my new favorite Dale Cameo of them all
