- If you, like me, are bereft* over the global Chartreuse shortage, may I recommend ratafia? It is a little sweeter and does not have the charming, eponymous color, but is lovely. * The monks have perfectly good reasons for limiting supply: They want to focus on God rather than commerce. Good on them

- JG Ballard never wrote the text used & misquoted in a Coke ad. So not only did the "creative" agency VML's use of LLM's to search work as poorly as you would expect LLM search to work, their factcheckers are unprofessional. That's some Trumpy level of incompetence. www.404media.co/ai-powered-c...

- So on The Last of Us, has Cordyceps crowded out all other infections? 'Cause Ellie seems to think so; she seems ok with getting bitten because she's immune to that one thing. I'd be really worried about dozens of other infections from those nasty zombies.

- When I was a kid in 1970's NYC, the ubiquitous woman's scent—other than cigarette smoke—was Jean Nate products. It was aromatic muzak. Innocuous, but everpresent. There is some new USA scent becoming as popular. I don't know what it is, but it's aromatic fingers-on-a-chalkboard. I hope it stops.
