It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

It would be nice to hear this directly from Dem leadership, that might provide some comfort and hope. Perhaps when an EO is issued, a top Dem posts a video explainer like “They can’t do X without changing or breaking law Y and if they try it we will do Z. We’re already taking steps 123” etc.
Yet tRump thinks that they override every other branch of government and supersede all laws…and judicial rulings.
So why are the orders even being obeyed?
I know he can continue to sign EO’s, I guess I just don’t understand why the agencies that they’re about carry out the orders when it hurts them. They are not legal ordered. Don’t they have to go thru congress?
Which is why it’s so infuriating that so many are spinelessly obeying.
