Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume?
Astronomer: Great question! There are a couple competing theories. One is that the resume may have formed with a gap for reasons that we're still trying to figure out. Another possibility is that you're selecting for candidates with resume gaps.
Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume?
Astronomer: It’s not truly a gap—rather, dust has obscured our view of that region, but if you would provide me with a very large infrared space telescope, I’ll see what I can do.
