- Maybe it will fake a Frank Herbert quote promoting AI next.

- I’ve been absent from this platform for a while and I just wanted to catch everyone up. I started my doctoral studies and got a solid “A” in my first class. But as I begin the readings for my next two summer classes I have a feeling they are going to kick my ass.

- Starting to feel like we really Cronenberged this planet
- his villains suffer horrible comeuppances
- It's hard to overstate the sharp drop in search result quality over the last year or so.
- You legit get better results by adding reddit to whatever you need 9/10 times.
- Search engines were vastly superior for the user 20 freakin years ago. And the engineered degradation of them has vastly enriched their owners. What a time to be alive.
- Somehow I managed to turn in the last of my work for my semester. I am now halfway through my MFA.
- This is a real head-scratcher
- Pretty much anyone not maga at this point. Guessing many of the non-leaders have no idea the euphemism at this point.

View full threadYES OH MY GOD THANK YOU... I was going absolutely insane. You win an acknowledgement when the book comes out (if you want it, the book is insane).
- It would be an honour. 'Insane' is a core brand value I cultivate. Godspeed!
- ahem

View full threadI had a passing mention of this kind of thing in Optimal, which I would probably flesh out if there were ever to be a sequel. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...
- Upvote for a sequel!!!
- I think that dude got into one too many barn fights
- That's the one; I'm hoping for online but I will do ILL if necessary!
- I think, if I remember correctly, that bull was issued because of the Cologne clergy were furious at the publication of the Malleus and pushed pope Alexander to issue a rebuke. … of my memory is correct.
- Love this book
- always love michael and agree with him on 99% of things but this is actually not quite right... for the far-gone true believers, abandonment of extreme beliefs is nearly impossible, and the only thing that has ever worked at all (and only in some cases) is intensive 1on1 emotional well-being work

View full threadYeah I’m kinda on the, I’m never sure, side — obviously I report on them and think there should be some degree of understanding (at least for your own good). But also, no, not into “debate me” bc I know that just means the person with ideas like, be nice, will get bullied over and over.
- See law school taught me to fear debate, so I know
