How much do you shoot each session? Many photographers will just shoot hundreds of photos at a time and then deal with it later, which then becomes extremely tedious to do later and they neglect it. These days I give myself only one or two chances to get the right shot and if I can't I move on.
I think it would be better if people worked more like this; the photogs we taught would get to things later post process, and my partner would always say get as much correct in camera as possible to make life easier later on, and if you don't get the shot in a few frames move on to keep it fresh <3
Mar 31, 2025 22:02Exactly. Moving on is hard if I think I'm leaving a great shot behind, but I think of it as there will be many more to come so it's not a big deal. If I spend all my time and creative energy on something that isn't working I might not ever get to the other things later on.
And sometimes he would say - if we just couldn't get the shot - "That's ok, sometimes it's just for us. Sometimes it's just meant to be captured in the moment in your memory, not on film." This is one of the reasons I love him so much. He's so present and purposeful!
