- The Library (Knowledge Centre) at the University of Luxembourg is stunning. Elements of the steel mill that stood on the site have been incorporated into the design.
- I’m a second-generation immigrant to the UK. I wouldn’t be here if my parents hadn’t been welcomed. Solidarity with everyone feeling less welcome today.
- Just heard the first swifts of the year - summer is on the way.

- Really nice day in Cambridge, celebrating 10 years of UK/Germany collaboration to support humanities research. Our new project aims to preserve, explore & provide greater access to folklore traditions in Germany & the UK, through the development of a digital infrastructure called StoryMachine.
- Reposted by Jane WintersEvery now again it’s useful to repeat advice about accessing papers that are behind a paywall that excludes you. Email the author. My estimate is that 90% of academics are so thrilled that a living, breathing, possibly even reading, person shows interest that they will swiftly send you a copy.
- Having measles is one of my earliest memories (I was seven). It was awful: World may be ‘post-herd immunity’ to measles, top scientist says www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
- Relieved that my local council went from Conservative to no overall control, with the Lib Dems the biggest party. Largest shift was still to Reform though.

- Reposted by Jane WintersI've been running informal Redundancy Buddy groups over the last 6 months with UK uni staff at risk of dismissal. There are several key things people are shocked by which I'm sharing here so others who're precarious feel less alone and recognise what to prepare for. Please add your ideas. A thread 🧵
- A gorgeous evening in Oslo after a day of wonderful web archiving discussion at the IIPC annual conference
- Two books I would love to see turned into TV series: The Secret History (why hasn’t this happened?) and The Kraken Wakes (so many versions of Day of the Triffids but not this environmental disaster story).

- I have to walk through a small shopping centre to get to the station in the morning. The music playing is a bit hit and miss at the best of times, but Bright Eyes at 8.00am is not going to make *anyone* feel better about commuting to work!
- A wonderful keynote for #BDCAM25 from @dorothyjberry.bsky.social. The themes, ideas and thoughtfulness will resonate throughout the rest of the conference.

- Feeling very lucky to have been able to see The Seagull at the Barbican this evening. Such a great production - Cate Blanchett and Tom Burke having a ball, but Jason Watkins and Tanya Reynolds real standouts too.
- Oh, I have six publications in here. Was not expecting that.
