After some therapy we watched second episode of new Black Mirror season. Far less depressing than the first one…except for the possible CPTSD for any woman who was once a girl in middle school.
It captured the terror of female aggression. Silly ending keeps it from being too downer.
I’m on record as saying that we should abolish middle school right along with venture capital, global whiteness and spicy gum.
I have no plan for 10-14 year olds beyond that but anything is better than middle school, my god.
There’s a This American Life episode about middle school - child psychologist is asked “If you could change one thing about the middle school experience what would it be?” Her (paraphrased) answer was “Don’t make kids in this age group go to school. It is TOO MUCH to be asking of their brains.”
