- Thanks NYC for amazing day.
- My daughter and I had an incredible day. She's in college in Brooklyn. It was great to hang with her.

- I totally will! Those look great!

- I hope so. It should be... But I'm not an apple person? I'll check with our distributor.
- 5th Book of the Year: This is Strategy by Seth Godin So, I must confess, I'm a Godin-ite. I've read every book he's written. This one felt like a summary of his ideas in a lot of ways. It reads like a daily devotional. I'd recommend reading it slow, a few passages a day.
- I've heard the audiobook is weird because the passages are so short. I read the paperback. It was great.
- 4th Book of the year: Solar Lottery by Philip K Dick It was amazing. It's a huge epic with all the PKD futurist weird bits. I love how PKD does world building. He doesn't explain anything until he absolutely has to and then only in context of a scene. And even though its sci-fi, its all dialogue.
- This week on the podcast, J Thorn and I talk about AI, his new AI editing tool, and how selling books is changing. open.spotify.com/episode/2gxK...
- My 15 year old and I just listened to "untitled" by Kendrick which was released in 2014. That's a weird sentence. Some things about this world are cool. And the album is amazing open.spotify.com/album/0kL3TY...
- Now that the weather has turned, I went back to walking Baltimore while Riggs is in dance. Fantastic stroll to MICA today. Baltimore is beautiful.
- Sounds amazing. I'm totally in for this.
- When people send you hate on your posts, respond so the algorithms think they should see more. 😈😈👿 Here’s hoping this person’s feed is full of queer content forever and ever 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
- May the algorithms ever be in your favor. 😁

- I've been doing this lovely podcast about books with my friend @tomholbrook.bsky.social. This week, we are talking about Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton. We are joined by author @1cdaigle.bsky.social. Go and check it out. youtu.be/B2OL7k0qQuM open.spotify.com/episode/3rk9... #booksky

- Love PKD's stuff. Reading Solar Lottery right now. He's fantastic.
- Those that know me, know that Dr. King is my personal hero and I wrestle deeply with his teachings. I hope you will grapple with him as well this week. Most of us have heard "I Have a Dream." Here are some of my favorites in this thread (?) Jet Stream (?) Chemtrail (?) (not sure what to call it).
-
View full thread"I've Been to the Mountain Top" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=gC6q... Dr. King gives a final word as Moses looking into a promise land he will not see. (Every time I listen it makes me cry. Literally crying right now thinking about it.)
- I hope you will join me this week in listening to Dr. King. May we all be challenged, troubled, and changed.
- "Our God is Marching On" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=moB0... Following the march in Selma, Dr. King shares his resolve.
- "Beyond Vietnam - A Time to Break the Silence" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJhg... Dr. King addresses the unjust nature of war and its undue burden on the impoverished.
- "Love Your Enemies" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=522w... A window into his philosophy of nonviolence, in 1957 Dr. King urged, "“hate for hate only intensifies the existence of hate and evil in the universe. ”
- "But If Not" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-kg... Dr. King delivers a message of perseverance from the Fiery Furnace passage of the Bible.
- "The Three Evils of Society" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sT9... Given in 1967, Dr. King challenges the three evils of society: racism, poverty, and war.
- Watching my son's favorite movie with them for the first time - Whiplash.

- Thanks for the vulnerable and fun story. Tough combo to pull off and you nailed it.
- 3rd Book of 2025: Joyful Recollections of Trauma by @paulscheer.com Great engaging memoir. Do the audio book because there are extras from the podcast. Both funny and heart warming. A great picture of a person who survived and came out the other end of trauma evolved and smiling. Super recommend.
- 2nd Book of 2025: Rejection by @tonytula.com This book is a collection of short stories from different POVs. Sexual content is a hard R (and not the fun kind). It's the best ending of a book I've read in a long time and the POV voices are amazing. I really recommend this one for every writer.
- I set a goal for myself to read a book a week this year. 1st Book of 2025: Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar Loved the writing. Beautifully built book. The transition between POVs was great. Didn't love the main character. He was tough to read.
- Just finished Brit-Marie Was Here by Backman. Amazing book. And not the ending I saw coming. Absolutely loved it. Backman is a total master.
- I've decided I'm too old on the inside to figure out how to add a profile picture.

- Foul on the play. No fair bringing in the Godin. 🤣
- Started reading Brit Marie Was Here by Backman yesterday. God, that man can write amazing books. Adding this one (along with his others) to my list of "books I'd like to have with me if I were buried alive."

- I just finished it. The last episode is not nicer to us. 😢
- It really hurt. And the finger gun??? Why.
