A wrap on RFK's comments to the House today:

RFK Jr. Can’t Say If He’d Vaccinate His Kids Today For Polio
"I don't think people should be taking medical advice from me,” said the health and human services secretary, whose job is to drive America’s health policy.
Okay back to RFK, now testifying in a Senate committee.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), fuming about all the haphazard and drastic cuts underway, held up a paper and said it's part of RFK's HHS "operating plan" that he he had to submit.
"530 programs simply have asterisks."
"You are not telling the American public anything about how you are spending the billions in taxpayer dollars right now," Baldwin tells RFK, angry.
"If you're gonna cut cancer research or gut mental health support, at least stand by your work and explain it to the American people."
Baldwin very angry about Head Start programs in her state that have faced delays in payments from HHS and have had to temporarily close.
Baldwin: "What would you say to a parent who shows up for Head Start and the doors are close?"
RFK Jr.: "I would be very sad."
May 14, 2025 19:13Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) tells RFK he wants to talk to him about vaccines and things he previously told the committee.
"You didn't tell the truth. I find that to be really dangerous for our relationship."
"If I were the chairman [Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy] who believes in vaccines and voted for you because he believed what you said about supporting vaccines, my head would be exploding," Murphy tells RFK Jr.
😬
Murphy said RFK previously told this committee he wouldn't impound or divert money intended for vaccine programs.
"You've done the opposite," he says. "You canceled $12 billion in grants to states" used for these programs.
"When did I do that?" asked RFK Jr.
Murphy says RFK Jr. promised Cassidy the FDA wouldn't change vaccine standards from "historical norms," but once sworn in, RFK announced new standards for vaccine approvals he called "a radical departure" from norms.
Murphy says he's also been "consistently undermining" the measles vaccine.
