- Different civilizations called it different things. The Aztec called it Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl. The Maya called it Nahá. Early maps referred to it as Seno Mexicano or Mar del Norte. You can either not speak at me like I’m stupid, or learn to recognize sarcasm. Preferably both.
