Are you aware of the salary that New Hampshire legislators are paid? It's a whopping $100! Makes it hard for people who aren't rich or retired to participate in New Hampshire politics. So it's not surprising we can eliminate the interest and dividends tax, but we underfund the university system
that's funny cuz i asked someone recently how nh was successful in revenue and budget in the black and he said one reason is cuz nh doesn't pay their legislators. i'm in vt & appalled we pay $17.5k w/no bennies while gov & admin are paid well above state private sector avgs.
Yeah it's sort of silly to think that paying our legislature for a part-time job would be budget busting. Yes it would cost money of course, it would also make it so that the legislature was more representative of the population and not just of wealthy retired people.

Yeah I don't think I'll run for a third term, even though I love the work and can see my impact in certain areas. I'm considering my political future, but running for something bigger requires so much money and that's something that needs to be addressed, get money out of politics!
