- It’s hitting exactly WHAT different people fear though I have spent 14 years advocating for changes and have discovered everyone wants a “magic bullet” solution (1 thing) The problem is that the solution is more like puzzle pieces that ALL need to be put in place to complete the picture

- I agree with you I just think when we’re talking about alcohol related injuries/deaths, we need to include everything because it seems Canadians need to be hit with a proverbial 2x4 to get them to do anything that requires changes in behaviour If the info is in bits and pieces it’s less of an impact

- My child was one of those “alcohol related deaths” when we were hit by a drunk driver. She had just turned 11 years old a couple months earlier Impaired Drivers cost Canadians BILLIONS each year in healthcare, lost wages, injuries, and deaths ….. and still we are apathetic

- Ontario’s insurance is so high because we have one of the highest drunk driver involved catastrophic crash rates in the world ALL of us are paying for those much needed and deserved settlements that have to go out to cover victims’ lifelong medical expenses

- Heard something new today: “Fight, flight or freeze.” (New to me, at least) Made me think. Then I heard the report on the junior hockey sexual assault trial. Made me think even more.
- I don’t think people realize just how many people freeze when faced with life or death events There’s a reason people who work in life or death professions will tell you to “be specific” in your instructions in a crisis Whether it’s a fire, a shooting, a cancer diagnosis, or a rape…. people FREEZE
