Blue and White Notes #itfc bluewhitenotes.beehiiv.com
- Probably not surprising that absent of strong collective bargaining, the thing that the state gets to just periodically hike up rises fastest
- In Britain, the fast-rising minimum wage is catching up with the bottom rungs of white-collar work. In fact, it appears that a rising number of people who earn annual salaries & don't work in low-paid sectors are now being paid below the legal minimum... www.ft.com/content/5f69...
- I remember having a long argument with a guy on a messageboard where he was very much "big number 😠😠" on immigration but insisted he wasn't against work visas, student visas or asylum and each time I'd suggest well, that's basically everyone he'd default back to "big number 😠😠"
- What would public choose on social care workers coming to Britain? Increase the numbers: 44% (18% a lot, 26% a little) Maintain current levels: 27% Reduce the numbers: 22% (11% reduce a lot, 11% a little) Focaldata for British Future (2nd - 6th May 2025) www.britishfuture.org/white-paper-...
- Really shows how Home Office mindset reduces migration to "big number 😠😠, small number 😊😊" - when presumably the largest contribution to this big number would, as now, be work and study visas THEY issue TO FULFIL THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT'S ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL AIMS
- Home Office special advisors now literally just inventing scary numbers based on absolutely nothing. There is no remotely credible analysis - inside the Home Office or out - that backs this up. archive.ph/ka6ga
