    ive been wanting to write this story about how the meaning of decentralisation has evolved over time within the fediverse and atmosphere, and have spend quite some time on a draft already. but doing it justice to explain why it all got so confusing and kinda stupid is just so much work lol

  Redundancy can give you resilience, but what I really hate is people referring to decentralisation as democratisation. Democracy solves problems which requires coordination and compromise.

  Does anyone know what proportion of energy demand from data centres in the US is - (gen)AI - cryptocurrency/blockchain mining - any other big uses? Also how this changes over the day / data surges? Interested in energy security.
