- 🧵 I’ve never done one of these so I’m gonna give it a shot. I’ll probably highlight one and throw in a couple bonus for each because I love video game music too much 🙃

View full threadDay 19 - Cover By A Different Artist l: Sonic x Shadow Generations Ok this’ll be the last Sonic game, I swear. But when I heard the music in the radical highway section in Shadow Generations, I loved it but it also sounded so familiar. Then found out it was by The Qemists! Fantastic dnb band.
- Day 20 - Music From A Racing Game: Sled Storm I have vague memories of this game, I just remember I sucked at it, it was a blast to play, and DRAGULA. Wish my copy wasn’t ridiculously scratched up 🫠
- Here’s a handful of games I’m looking forward to! A number of these are already out, but I’m either A: waiting for the physical release or B: tossing them at my family for Christmas ideas. Final Fantasy 7 isn’t here but it’s definitely a maybe, just depends on the state it releases in.
- Day 17 - Music You Never Get Tired Of: Sonic Heroes The first game soundtrack I owned on CD was Sonic Heroes, so naturally I would never get sick of it. I played the crap out of the CD, and every time it looped and got to the first level I was always looking forward to listening to it all again.
- Day 18 - Music From A Game Released The Year You Were Born: Sonic CD (1993) It’s so weird listing Sonic CD here because not only did I first play the game from the Gems Collection & hate it, I then played it in Origins & loved it. Also can’t believe I never heard the JP soundtrack until Origins.
- Day 15 - Boss Battle Music: Hades I mean come on. I feel like in recent years this is like THE boss music. Supergiant Games and Darren Korb are incredible, all their games are amazing and the soundtracks are no different. Now the question is which phase is better? Answer: yes.
- Day 16 - 16-bit Music: Ristar As a kid I loved playing my brother’s Genesis and the few games he had. Ristar was one of those games, and I could never get past the third world 🫠 That means I got to listen to the early game music A LOT, which isn’t bad when this level had a gorgeous track.
- Day 13 - Music From A Game You Don’t Like: Skullgirls I wouldn’t say I dislike Skullgirls, but someone gifted me the game years ago and it just wasn’t for me. But the character select theme. Oh my god. When I first heard it, it was like I was hit with a weird nostalgia. I love it.
- Day 14 - Music With Lyrics: NieR Replicant I’ll throw a curveball here, lyrics that aren’t from a real language! The songs from both NieR games are beautiful, & one that always stuck out to me was Song of The Ancients. The battle versions of this song are epic, but this simple one is my favorite.
