- There are vast nos of Mayflies along the river at the moment. In a quiet backwater, I noticed this individual in the final throes of it's short life. I was expecting a Chub to surface & take it, given how clearly it was advertising it's location. Notice the large no of other tiny inverts present.
- How's the Chiffchaff's nest you ask? Incubation continues - the female leaves the nest circa every 45 mins to feed, leaving the eggs unattended for a period of 15 mins. The male bird accompanies the f at each of these breaks. Incubation takes circa 14 days and it's coming up to the halfway stage.
