I think we also need to recognize that a large percentage of these “people” are not people. There are young people (generally boys) being radicalized but there is also a huge, coordinated misinformation bot war being waged on Facebook. I left it on inauguration day and will never return.

I agree, we need a coordinated effort. This is a societal problem and we need the good people in society to come together to solve it. I know its something the NDP gov't in BC realizes is a huge problem, we just haven't figured out how to stop it. Part of the solution is def better role models.

Until we shut off the fire hose of hatred and disinformation on the ‘socials’ we will continue to see this cancer metastasize in our body-politic.

It's surreal to watch young people unable to sort through illogic and misinformation. It seems impossible, but conservatives have taught them to hate everything they benefit from. It's religious in it's fervor (and on conservative circles, evangelicalism is the root of their thinking).
