Xopher Halftongue RESISTS! ✊🏿
Opinionated heterochromic homosexual hemiglossic. He/him. Cis. Soyboy. Views my own. Tolerance is a social contract; if you're intolerant I don't have to tolerate you. #NoLGBWithoutTheT. Sine homines gaudere rebus. #BLM No hands but ours 👍👎.
- I'd just like to point out that "ICE agents should be tried in The Hague" is the moderate position. The radical position is "ICE agents should be tried at Nuremberg."
- No due process for Nazis. Straight to the gallows.
- Part of what makes us not-Nazis is that we believe in due process for everyone. Hating them is good; don't start becoming them, not even a little bit.
- I vote to bypass the courts and turn ALL of these unidentified Gestapo agents into tree ornaments....
- What can be done to our enemies on our behalf can be done to us by our enemies. I'm with you in spirit, but such solutions have consequences far beyond the punishment of the guilty.
- The radical position is that the lot should meet the fate of Gadhafi, of Ceausescu
- My dream is many reenactments of this scene.
- I vote for Nuremberg ! ICE is committing crimes against humanity. Nuremberg knows how to deal with those that do that!
- But...but they're just following orders!
- This is actually funny. This "rude" reply was to the person who entered the conversation (and my life) by calling me a liar, and said I had no right to exclude anyone in person OR online - and then blocked me! Rude? Yes, but not uncalled for.
- DHS made a big deal of the idea that she was "failing to obey a traffic light." Turns out that part wasn't even true.
- A thread I've been thinking about for a while: There are flaws in some of the arguments used by trans/nonbinary people and their cis allies (of whom I strive to be one). Not that the arguments are bad or wrong; but there are flaws which might be exploited by the enemy. I'll propose some fixes. 1/21

View full thread...and is now simply the polite form of address...but it takes plural grammar, just as 'you' does in English. *I don't know of a single case* where a group of individuals intentionally and successfully introduced a new pronoun to a language. Not ONE. (FWIW, I do have a degree in linguistics.) 14/21
- So I doubt the neopronouns are going to take - and of course I could be wrong. BUT I can supply some ideas to make them *more likely* to take. 1. Pick a set. There are dozens and dozens of different suites of pronouns out there. Only the most dedicated people will learn different ones... 15/21
- ...and that it DID bother people at the time it was changing. There are recorded rants about those terrible young people who "say You to one" instead of properly saying "thou." (Second-person singular grammar has completely dropped out of English. "Thou goest, I know thee" etc. All gone.) 7/21
- If they keep refusing to refer to your enby friend as "they/them," you can start addressing them as "thou/thee," and looking around confusedly if they address you as "you" ("'You' is plural. Me and who else?"). Yeah, you're calling them an asshole. But at that point they deserve it. 8/21
