It’s pronounced juggernaut without the jug.
- Perfect timing for this @npr.org story on Vienna's climate efforts: Austria's new government may be backtracking on a number of climate efforts, Vienna is doubling down. www.npr.org/2025/05/13/n...
- Thanks again Gernot!
- Terrific story!
- Follow along for a Vienna appreciation 🧵, observing the most mundane of things en route to and from the Wiener Klimarat these past couple of days. Exhibit 1: This apparently is a major interior building renovation. This truck is here to haul away the debris. They even protected the bike path! 🚲😍

- Good question. Definitely H₂O.
- Final(?) mundane Wien appreciation note: stumble upon a café on the walk back to the hotel that on the outside looks like this...
- ...inside like this. 😍
- "DOGE had by fiat the authority to give thumbs up or down to grant applications… "Our closed-to-the-public deliberations were observed by Zachary Terrell from [DOGE]. … Terrell showed more interest in his water bottle and his cuticles than in the discussion." time.com/7285045/resi...
- Back to the Rathaus, Vienna City Hall. This is the interior. Positively awesome place to live + work. 😍
- OK, one final ride back up the Pater Noster to @chairnohorsekey.bsky.social's office. ft @krogenhofer.bsky.social + @wien.gv.at Misttelefon
- still managed to get the water pipes in, too!
- 💧😍
- OK, back to celebrating the mundane: Want to know why Vienna tops global livability rankings on a regular basis? This image pretty much says it all. 😍
- The speed of the transformation is pretty amazing, too. This is Universitätsstraße near Votivkirche. Google Streetview tells me that through May 2023, it was a 6-lane monstrosity, with a pained-on bike lane. June 2024: construction. May 2025: 😍 #WienLiebe
