also, they're almost exclusively going after soft and sympathetic targets now, and while some people think that's deliberate, i don't, i think they can't find / are afraid of hard targets, and it's chipping away at their support *even with trump voters*
They’re lashing out against Habeas and arresting Mayors because they know their position is weak and getting weaker, and they’re panicking. It’s scary to live through, but it’s less scary when you remember this isn’t coming from a position of strength, it’s sweaty desperation.
May 9, 2025 22:43like, they want everyone to have the impression that they're rounding up MS-13 members and TdA members or whatever, but their inability to behave like serious professionals completely undermines that message. that's not evidence of strategy, it's evidence of total incompetence
These people seem like the sort that get off on the feeling of power they get from hurting people, and the more vulnerable the people are the more powerful it feels to them.
They're running into the problem that their supporters often get a kick out of imagining this but when faced with it human psychology kicks in and they hate it, like people who fantasize about being John Wick but would be traumatized by the experience of seeing someone die in real life.
