- Reposted by Ginny_BearI’m close friends with a Senate chief of staff who won’t even let me buy him a cup of coffee. Meanwhile, Trump can just take a $400 million bribe in the form of a private jet. The corruption is mind-boggling.
- I’m thankful the new pope will continue Pope Francis’s reforms, but as a faith leader from who millions take their moral cues, until the pope elevates women to leadership roles at the top of the church, I just can’t get excited.
- I'm very glad they chose a pope who's similar to Francis, but until they nominate a woman who does the same, and there are surely plenty of them, this really means nothing. To me, anyway.
- “It matters a lot that we have a pope and a spiritual leader whose heart is for migrants,” Cardinal Pablo Virgilio Siongco David of the Philippines said at a news conference. “And I think he will sustain the direction of Pope Francis.” www.nytimes.com/live/2025/05...

- I highly recommend watching Unbroken on Netflix, a documentary on 7 Jewish siblings who were able to stay together during Nazi Germany. It was riveting.

- My 87 year-old Democrat mother is upset and angry about Abrego Garcia being wrongly deported, but is also now afraid that she will find out the same is going to happen to her any day. 87 years old! She shouldn't have to worry about that - none of us should.
