have you read any James Herbert novels? The Dark is wild. It’s one of my faves. Creed and Magic Cottage are also great, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any James Herbert novels Mr Mercedes by Stephen King is fantastic, as are the two follow up books. The Institute by King is also brilliant
