- In the margins of the 76th session of the Int'l Law Commission, the GEN is at the event by #Czechia that will address the intersections between "International Human Rights Law and the Protection of the Environment", Prof. Veronika Bílková.
- Though int'l human rights law is increasingly engaging with env't protection, Prof. Veroniká Bílková argues that such integration is facing challenges, incl. inconsistent state practices, judiciability, & anthropocentric orientation that may not accommodate ecological concerns.
- Highlighting the "environmentalization of human rights and the whole of int'l law", Prof. Bílková makes clear that: 🔹 Protection of env't is a human rights issue. 🔹 There is an emerging/emerged right to #HealthyEnvironment 🔹 Env't harm can entail violations of various HR.
