- What’s at the end of the rainbow?…🌈☁️ GREEN bowfin! 💚🐟 This green coloration can be seen in male bowfins during their spawning season! Although scientists don’t know the mechanism behind this physiological change, we can at least celebrate their festive color for the holiday. 🍀🎉 #bowfin #green

- Gars breathe air, so they do just fine outside the water for brief periods. They are much more resilient out of water than most fish, especially other kinds of fish that breathe through water.
- Meet #GarLab member @alyssarausch96.bsky.social! Alyssa is a PhD student focusing her dissertation on comparing the life history/ecology of gars/bowfins in northern vs. southern regions. She is also collaborating with Native American tribes to explore how they value and manage these fish. #GarWeek
