my brain continues to have difficulty with the notion that we have left-wing reactionaries currently
It helps that my city is filled with these cranks. Full on "get rid of the highway and make it a boulevard if you're questioning how I know it will make all things better or means you're THE ENEMY" combined with death threats for transit planners when they didn't get their insane way.
yeah all north american planning is basically the most prominent example of reactionary "things should be worse because they used to be worse" being discussed in this thread
