Matthew Jee - The Irreverent Buddhist
We need a revolution. That's it. That's my take. A peaceful revolution, before rich white f*cks kill this earth. Climate inaction is murder. Peace to ALL people.
It's OK to disagree, it's not OK to be disagreeable.

- Our "financial" predicament summed up in one photograph. As @garyseconomics.bsky.social says, "sell everything to the wealthy, then rent it back, can't be the basis upon which you build an economy". Seen on my mindful meandering in Bristol.

- 📢NEW: "It’s bad leadership." Steel giant ArcelorMittal has a carbon footprint the size of Belgium, yet has decided to slow down on decarbonization. I talked to @steelwatch.bsky.social CEO Caroline Ashley about the firm's behaviour.
- Is that unusually low Dave? It seems low.
- I also discuss the bizarre and disturbing association between the Starmer government and former special advisers to Boris Johnson and Liz Truss. I vaguely remember being told something about "Change". But this continuity is beyond our worst nightmares. Not just Tory policies, but actual Tories.
- *Copy one of Boris Johnson's stupidest and most self-destructive policies. *Ignore the massive wave of public fury it ignited. *Smear and attack anyone warning that it might not be a great idea. In this week's column I ask what the hell Keir Starmer is playing at. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
- The mendacity of these neoliberal power seekers is shocking.
- If this is the peak, say goodbye to all of the "but China" excuses for inaction.

- This is why I use the Duckduckgo browser as my daily driver: it deals with 99% of cookie popups for you - rejecting cookies, and will trash them all at the end of each session. This hugely reduces the profile advertisers can build on you, as well as just being a nicer browsing experience.

- In line with Hansen's understanding. Oops.
- As immigration figures fall the Government has a golden opportunity to generate an honest conversation about immigration Instead it made these “disgraceful” remarks due to their dishonesty “They are damaging in part because they validate the rhetoric & dishonesty of both Reform & the Conservatives”
- New post: Starmer’s Disgraceful and Damaging Remarks mainlymacro.blogspot.com/2025/05/star... As with austerity in the 2010s, if none of the main parties can be honest about immigration then the public debate will be equally dishonest.

- You're welcome - and thanks, I really appreciate it when people own their prejudiced, incorrect opinions. It shows maturity.
- I’m one of those dodgy immigrants who came here on a spouse visa and got indefinite leave to remain after 12 months. The incalculable harm I have done to the UK includes dedicating my life to public service, educating thousands of British young people, and paying more tax than I’ll ever get back.
- Bloody foreigners, coming over here, educating our youth and paying our taxes. /s
- Trump is getting a $400 million luxury Boeing 747-8 as a ‘gift’ from Qatar’s royal family, ABC reports. The plane is described as a “flying palace” and will be used as Airforce One and then transferred to Trump. It’s the biggest foreign ‘gift’ ever and apparently doesn’t break bribery laws.
