In my analogy Democrats would be the equivalent of Stoics. Sometimes they share some of the same ideas as christians but thats more from evolving at the same time then any deep connection.
I sort of have to finish analogy don’t I ? The Republicans would be members of the Roman Imperial Cult. Worshipping the Divine Julius & Augustus as personifications of Roman Power.
