cycling through a million things i could say about the word 'cunt' but idk man as far as gendered insults go i don't think it's usually used to refer to women specifically in this country is it? like to me a cunt is kind of like the US definition of pornography: you know one when you see one #nzpol

It’s not gendered because it’s used to insult women, it’s gendered because people think calling someone a vagina (ie a woman) is one of the worst possible insults. It comes back to how women are valued; ok to stick a dick (far less offensive) in, but not much good for anything else.

I’ll roll my eyes at variations of GC (not used an insult, so not problematic!), and I’m fine with it used as slang for anatomy, but I really don’t like it used pejoratively. I tend to think way too much about the meaning of words, so there are other swears I similarly avoid.

that's totally fair! it's not a word i use a lot tho i probably do use it more perjoratively than not. growing up in whakatū nelson everyone said it a lot and i feel like i just grew out of it tbh. i would never use it as slang for anatomy tho bc that just feels crude to a point i'd be embarassed!
