- Interesting observations. My analysis was based on had been done in the past, in terms of number of awards (all types and mechs). From my direct experience, grants management specialists work hard all year; it is not like they are sitting around much of the year waiting for something to do. 1/n

- The NIH GMS folks are going to have SO MUCH MORE work when Jay & Co replace subawards with "independent subprojects." (a misnomer, because many subawards are just paying for the effort of one co-investigator on the prime's project)
