Taraji P. Henson in Trouble in Tyler Perry's Crime Thriller 'Straw' Trailer
"It seems like you had a lot to get over today." Indeed. Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for the crime thriller titled Straw, the latest Tyler Perry film created for streaming on Netflix as part of his deal with the film studio. This will be out in June - his second film this year following Duplicity for Prime Video a few months ago. In Straw, Taraji P. Henson a single mother who watches her desperate day spiral into chaos. Sounds like that title is a reference to the idiom about "the last straw." She becomes the prime suspect in a crime she never meant to commit—suddenly, her survival depends on the one thing she’s never been able to trust: the people around her. "She finds herself in a horrible situation where one of those days, you wake up and everything that could go wrong, goes wrong." The film also stars Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, Ashley Versher, Mike Merrill, and Glynn Turman. This doesn't seem like Tyler Perry's typical thrillers, I just hope he wrote her a good way out of this bank robbery predicament. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Cannes 2025: Óliver Laxe's 'Sirat' - A Techno-Filled Desert Odyssey
Cannes 2025: Óliver Laxe's 'Sirat' - A Techno-Filled Desert Odyssey
One of the most exciting discoveries from the 2025 Cannes Film Festival (so far) is a film titled Sirat, made by Spanish-French filmmaker Óliver Laxe. I've been posting trailers for it already leading up to the start of the festival, but it really is all about the experience watching this and discovering where it's taking us on its journey through the desert. Cinema reigns!! What an unforgettable experience watching this together with the packed-house of cinephiles at the press screening on Thursday night. Everyone came out of the screening raving about it, everyone has something to say about it - these are the kind of Cannes moments I live for. Sirat is awesome. This is what cinematic storytelling is all about. It's one giant metaphor, of course, but it also can be viewed as a literal trip through this desert hell. And the shock and awe of discovering what happens as you're watching it for the first time is essential to the experience of understanding the film. And, by extension, understanding life – the shock and awe of never knowing what's about to happen next in life. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Cannes 2025: 'M:I - The Final Reckoning' is Flawed Yet Still Enjoyable
Cannes 2025: 'M:I - The Final Reckoning' is Flawed Yet Still Enjoyable
The grand finale. The end of it all. The sum of your life's choices. The last moment. The final reckoning with Ethan Hunt. This is it. After 30 years, across 8 movies, Tom Cruise (and director Chris McQuarrie) give us one last spectacular cinematic experience with Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. But is it really a spectacular cinematic experience? Well, that's up to everyone to decide for themselves. I was lucky to watch The Final Reckoning in IMAX - at an IMAX cinema located just nearby the Cannes Film Festival at the same time Tom Cruise was on the red carpet. This is, of course, the best way to watch it - our seats were rumbling, the footage was crisp & clear, it felt like a true chest-thumping spectacle. But of course if I'm honest - The Final Reckoning has some flaws. Quite a few flaws. But it is far from being the worst movie in the franchise and anyone saying this isn't really judging this movie accurately, they're criticizing it because they wanted something specific out of it. It is the second half of Dead Reckoning (2023) and it spends way too long explaining everything, but it is still an emotionally satisfying conclusion to this action franchise. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Mark Ruffalo & Tom Pelphrey in Philly FBI 'Task' Force Series Teaser
Mark Ruffalo & Tom Pelphrey in Philly FBI 'Task' Force Series Teaser
"You're not going to ruin their lives just because you ruined yours." HBO Max has revealed the first look teaser trailer for a series called Task, created and showrun by the screenwriter Brad Ingelsby (of Out of the Furnace, Run All Night, The Way Back, "Mare of Easttown"). This is set for streaming in September but they're beginning the buzz now with this first teaser way in advance. FBI Agent Tom leads a task force in a Philadelphia suburb to put an end to a string of drug-house robberies led by an unsuspecting family man. The series features Mark Ruffalo starring as FBI Agent Tom, and Tom Pelphrey as Robbie, the two main characters. Along with Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton. The season's 7 episodes will debut weekly. All they're making nowadays are true crime series about criminals & cops trying to take them down. More of the same we've seen just in another city & with another criminal. Anyone down? // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Rockin' Trailer #2 for DreamWorks Animation's Sequel 'The Bad Guys 2'
Rockin' Trailer #2 for DreamWorks Animation's Sequel 'The Bad Guys 2'
"We need The Bad Guys for the biggest heist in history!" The Bad Guys... in space? DreamWorks Animation has revealed a second trailer for The Bad Guys 2, the next exciting animated sequel from DWA. Set to hit theaters everywhere in August later this summer. The Bad Guys are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys, when they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do "one last job" by an all-female squad of criminals - known as The Bad Girls. Everyone's favorite felons are back, and this time, they've got company. Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Ms. Tarantula, Mr. Shark & Mr. Piranha return and they find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by other criminals. The Bad Guys 2 features the stellar original cast: Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, and Awkwafina. And newcomers for this one include Danielle Brooks as The Bad Girls leader Kitty Kat, a clever snow leopard; Maria Bakalova as Pigtail, a brilliant Bulgarian wild boar engineer; Natasha Lyonne as Doom, a wry raven with a knack for deception. Looking like this might actually be a great follow-up to the first movie, with some very funny & visually astounding sequences all rolled into one. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Sydney Sweeney & Simon Rex in South Dakota in 'Americana' Trailer
Sydney Sweeney & Simon Rex in South Dakota in 'Americana' Trailer
"All I want is the artifact!" And everyone else wants money. Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for an indie ensemble comedy film called Americana, from writer / director Tony Tost making his feature debut. This originally premiered in 2023 at the SXSW Film Festival, but it never played anywhere else after that fest and has been waiting for release ever since. Lionsgate will finally drop this one in theaters in August this summer. When a rare Lakota Ghost Shirt falls onto the black market in a small South Dakota town, the lives of local outsiders & outcasts violently intertwine. Some seek fortune and some seek personal freedom, while others simply want to return the artifact to its proper tribal home. The film's cast features Sydney Sweeney as a shy waitress, Paul Walter Hauser as a military vet, Halsey, Simon Rex as an antiquities dealer, Eric Dane as a ruthless criminal, and Zahn McClarnon as the leader of an indigenous group. This looks seriously kooky & awkward, maybe there's a good reason it hasn't been released in the last two years. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Full Trailer for 'Lost in Starlight' Sci-Fi Romance Anime Made in Korea

"Do you wish you hadn't met me?" "No. Not at all. The best thing I've done in my life." Netflix has unveiled their full official trailer for Lost in Starlight, made by Korean filmmaker Han Ji-won. This new anime is Netflix's very first Korean-language animated feature - with the voices of K-drama powerhouses Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung. When an astronaut leaves Earth for Mars, the vastness of space divides the two star-crossed lovers. Director Bong Joon-ho has already commented saying: "This visual masterpiece takes you around the universe." Set in 2050 Seoul, an astronaut dreaming of Mars & a musician with a broken dream find each other among the stars, guided by their hopes & their love for one another. When Nan-young visits an audio equipment repair shop to fix an old record player her mom left behind, she runs right into Jay, and a romance slowly blossoms. Lost in Starlight will debut streaming on Netflix at the end of May. This trailer shows how their lives will be mirrored with her struggles out in space and his on Earth (the snapping strings motif) - while their love for each other keeps them connected. Yep this looks great! I'll be watching for sure. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Another Scary Trailer for 'Bring Her Back' Horror with Sally Hawkins

"How did you cope with Cathy being gone?" "I didn't." Elena Kampouris Gets into Trouble in Italy in 'Here Now' Thriller Trailer
"Everything can change..." in an instant. Right? Voltage Pictures has unveiled an official US trailer for an Italian thriller film titled Here Now, set on Sicily in Italy. The original Italian title is Fino alla fine and it's made by the filmmaker Gabriele Muccino, best known for directing Seven Pounds and The Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith years ago. Sophie is a young Californian traveling in Italy on her vacation with her sister. She meets Giulio and his group of friends with whom she spends the most terrifying night of her life. A young woman's vacation in Palermo turns into a deadly battle for survival in a 24-hour whirlwind crime spree. Starring Elena Kampouris as Sophie, Saul Nanni, Lorenzo Richelmy, Enrico Inserra, and Francesco Garilli. This looks like it's one of those passionate thrillers where a whirlwind romance leads to some crimes, but she goes along with it because why not. Looks like it gets wild once things pick up. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - First Trailer for Marvel TV's 'Ironheart' Series Feat. Dominique Thorne
First Trailer for Marvel TV's 'Ironheart' Series Feat. Dominique Thorne
"I want to build something undeniable. Something..." "Important?" "Iconic." Marvel has launched the first official trailer for a new Marvel Television mini-series called Ironheart, a spin-off from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie. The series set in Chicago focuses on genius teenage inventor Riri Williams, who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Riri returns home where she gets entangled with the enigmatic Parker Robbins aka "The Hood", discovering secrets that pit technology against magic, setting her on a path of danger & adventure. The series is launching in June, a one-off creation produced by Ryan Coogler following his work on the Black Panther movies. I guess it took a few years for this series to come together while he was out filming Sinners. Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as "Ironheart", Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White. This looks pretty cool. There's some good storytelling in this. But also seems like Disney is getting a bit afraid people are losing interest after Iron Man is gone so they're kinda sorta bringing back Iron Man – even though it's not actually Iron Man. Iron Woman? Sure, why not, let's roll with that. Check it out below. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Wacky Trailer #2 for 'Smurfs' Animated Movie with Corden & Offerman
Wacky Trailer #2 for 'Smurfs' Animated Movie with Corden & Offerman
"Get ready for an adventure that will blue you way." Oyy. Paramount has revealed the second full trailer for Smurfs (yep that's the title), the next animated-hybrid Smurfs movie arriving in theaters this summer. This is the fourth Hollywood movie featuring the little blue guys created by Belgian artist Peyo, following The Smurfs (2011) and its sequels. This new reboot is directed by Chris Miller from a screenplay written by "South Park" writer Pam Brady. This musical brings them into the real world for an adventure. When Papa Smurf is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Smurfette leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. This fun new Smurfs features an all-star voice cast including Rihanna as Smurfette, of course, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña, with Kurt Russell and John Goodman as Papa Smurf. This looks painfully unfunny and dumb but I guess that's the point - this is not supposed to be some high brow comedy. Oh well. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Superb Trailer #2 for James Gunn's 'Superman' with David Corenswet
Superb Trailer #2 for James Gunn's 'Superman' with David Corenswet
Look up! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...? Warner Bros has revealed the second official trailer for James Gunn's new Superman movie – his fresh, modern update on the iconic "Man of Steel", the "Last Son of Krypton", from DC Comics. Formerly known as Superman: Legacy, it follows Supes as he reconciles his heritage with his human upbringing living in Kansas as Clark Kent. Written and directed by James Gunn, actor David Corenswet (from "We Own This City", "Lady in the Lake", Twisters) stars as Clark Kent / Superman this time around. The excellent ensemble cast includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, plus Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell. This is the second real trailer but we've also featured the Fortress of Solitude sneak peek and the "Superman Day" making of promo - everything is looking more and more incredible the closer we get to its release this summer. I've got a good feeling about this movie. Yes it has some of Gunn's usual humor but it also looks like he understands the character in such a profound way. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Festival Promo Trailer for Colombian Film 'A Poet' with Ubeimar Rios
Festival Promo Trailer for Colombian Film 'A Poet' with Ubeimar Rios
"I'm a poet." "You're unemployed." LuxBox has revealed a festival promo trailer for the indie film titled Un Poeta, or A Poet in English, a Colombian film from filmmaker Simón Mesa Soto as his second feature. It's premiering at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival this month playing in the Un Certain Regards section - and I've been hearing good things already from my colleagues. This looks very funny. An aging poet named Oscar finds purpose mentoring Yurlady, a talented teen, though exposing her to the poetry scene might be unwise. His own poetic pursuits led nowhere, leaving him a stereotypical obscure writer. "Aging and erratic, he has succumbed to the cliché of the poet in the shadows." But that changes when he meets her. Starring Ubeimar Rios as Oscar, Rebeca Andrade as Yurlady, and Guillermo Cardona as Efrain. I can also say I'm a huge fan of the poet film Paterson, starring Adam Driver as quiet, unknown poet in a small town - it also premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. Even though these two films have some similarities, this one looks unique and funky in its own clever ways. I really want to watch it! Keep an eye out for it this year. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - The 2025 Cannes Film Festival Has Begun - Diving into New Cinema
The 2025 Cannes Film Festival Has Begun - Diving into New Cinema
The 78th Festival du Film de Cannes has officially begun. Everyone is back in the South of France this May for yet another cinema celebration in the sun on the Mediterranean coast. The next 12 days in Cannes are dedicated to discovery and art and storytelling as film lovers from around the world dive into screenings and conversations of all kinds. This is my 15th year attending and covering the Cannes Film Festival in France - to celebrate my 14th year last year I gave away 4 copies of Matt Singer's excellent book "Opposable Thumbs". While I'm not giving away more books for 2025, I am once again incredibly happy to be back, excited to dive into the films and anxiously awaiting each screening. However, something feels different in 2025. Something shifted in the world last fall, a perilous shift, and it seems to have disrupted the normal ebb & flow of things as everyone adjusts to the strange times we're living in. Nonetheless there are amazing films waiting for us, hopefully some films that challenge our prejudices and biases, and allow us to see the world anew again. The festival is off to a more quiet start, but the buzz will build up over the next two weeks. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Watts & Close & Paulson in Divorce Attorneys Series 'All's Fair' Teaser

"What do you ladies think you could possibly hit me with that I haven't seen before?" Hulu has unveiled a wild first look teaser trailer for a series titled All's Fair, yet another new Ryan Murphy creation. This is set for release in the fall later this year - but they're starting to hype it up already. A team of female divorce attorneys leave a male-dominated firm to open their own powerhouse practice. Fierce, brilliant and emotionally complicated, they navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets and shifting allegiances—both in the courtroom and within their own ranks. The new series stars Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, with Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close. "If I command my heart to stop, it would stop." Neue Visionen Filmverleih in Germany has revealed the first look trailer for the highly anticipated German film titled Sound of Falling in English (or In die Sonne schauen in German), made by German filmmaker Mascha Schilinski. The film will be premiering tomorrow at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Main Competition, a major debut for this little German film. It was supposed to premiere at Berlinale, but Cannes snatched it instead giving it a much more grand premiere. This epic story is set across four different times spanning decades. Four girls: Alma, Erika, Angelika, and Lenka, each spend their youth on the same farm in northern Germany. As the home evolves over a century, echoes of the past linger in its walls. Though separated by time, their lives begin to mirror each other. The film is "a grand tour into the subtlest ramifications of the emotional worlds of these four women... A film that drills deep into our perception and stages the sensation where it is most fleeting: in the quickly fading feeling of time." Starring Hanna Heckt as Alma, Lena Urzendowsky as Angelika, Laeni Geiseler as Lenka, Susanne Wuest as Emma, Luise Heyer as Christa, and Lea Drinda as Erika. "Guys I'm not going to fight ya... I'm here on vacation." Universal has revealed the first official trailer for Nobody 2, the next big action sequel due out this summer - smashing its way into theaters in August. This continuation of the Nobody story from 2021 brings back Bob Odenkirk as the unassuming father who is also a badass assassin. This time it's being directed by Indonesian action maestro Timo Tjahjanto, known for his films The Night Comes for Us, Headshot, and The Shadow Strays. Sometimes the most dangerous place for a dad is a family vacation. Ha ha. Bob Odenkirk returns as the suburban husband, father and workaholic assassin Hutch Mansell in the new chapter to Nobody, the hit 2021 bare-knuckle action-thriller. In this sequel, Hutch ends up battling a whole bunch of bad guys while on vacation to the tourist town of "Plummerville" with his entire family, including his dad. The cast includes Odenkirk with Connie Nielsen, John Ortiz, RZA, Colin Hanks, plus Christopher Lloyd and Sharon Stone. And tons of stunt men / bad guys / thugs / assassins. This won the Best Actress & Best Director & Best Debut Film awards in the Orizzonti section at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, then went on to play at the Vancouver, London, Tromso, Singapore, AFI Fest, New Films/New Directors Film Festivals as well. Familiar Touch is a coming-of-old-age film about an older woman dealing with memory loss. It's lead by a remarkable performance by Tony nominee Kathleen Chalfant as Ruth. Made in close collaboration with residents of a retirement community, it challenges the perceptions around aging and sensitively depicts the complexities around intimacy and desire in later life. The film follows the winding path of octogenarian Ruth's shifting memories and desires while remaining rooted in her sage perspective. Also starring Carolyn Michelle, Andy McQueen, and H. "And what, may I ask, is your name?" Got your tickets yet? Lionsgate has debuted a fourth official trailer for the Ballerina action movie, the next John Wick movie arriving in theaters worldwide this June. They're hoping it will be a big hit, just like the John Wick movies. But are you excited to watch it yet? We've featured three trailers for this - the best one is the third one from a few months ago. Ana de Armas stars as Eve, an assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma getting revenge hunting the murderers of her family. The same character was played by Unity Phelan in 2019's Chapter 3 – Parabellum though this takes place before Chapter 4. The main supporting cast includes Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, Keanu Reeves, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus. And also featuring Lance Reddick before he passed away. I do hope this kick ass and most importantly I hope the action is awesome. But this does look like they're so desperately trying to tie it into John Wick and make sure Keanu is in it somewhere, even though it also seems like it wants to follow its own path with this Eve character. "And then what happened?" "It was a moment of true liberation from the ego mind." Don't you want to find out more? Will you be forever changed by this story? Dive in and find out. Heroic Dose is a hilarious new comedy short film created and directed by a filmmaker known as Dugan Gundelfinger (not his real last name). This his "opus", an autobiographical tale of the time he tripped on way too much acid. "A genre bending comedic retelling of the time I had a psychedelic-induced mystical journey exploring the ego mind, 'reality' and the cosmic joke of the human experience..." During a dinner gathering discussing trying drugs, Gundelfinger tells his story of the time he was given a "heroic dose" LSD and went hard on psychedelics. It's not exactly meant to be a philosophical film (though I do like his idea about the "ahh" sound). But it might actually make a few people want to try this? Please be safe. Son of the Century (aka M: Il figlio del secolo in Italian) when it first premiered. We've been tracking this since it popped up at the 2024 Venice Film Festival last year as one of their series premieres. F1 stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, with Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Sarah Niles, plus Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and lots of F1 drivers and team members as themselves. This final trailer focuses on the rivalry between Sonny and Joshua, ramping up the intensity between them right up until the final shot. Must See Badass Sizzle Reel Promo for 'Kung Fury 2' Lost Since 2020
"I eat lions every goddamn day. If you're not prepared to do the same, then you hang up that hat, walk out that door, and you never come back..." Hell yes - I want to watch this! Some of you will remember a badass short (at 30 mins!) film from 2015 called Kung Fury, made by Swedish filmmaker David Sandberg (no relation to Shazam! director David F. Sandberg). This was his own big project and it was a huge hit when it launched online - watch here. In 2018 he started development on a full-length feature version called Kung Fury: The Movie or Kung Fury 2. He was somehow able to wrangle up Michael Fassbender, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and David Hasselhoff for the cast, and shot the film in 2019. But after legal troubles and other setbacks, the pandemic kicked in and the film has been stuck in release limbo. Word is that it's finished but who knows if it'll ever be released. After all this time, a 10-minute "sizzle reel" promo trailer for Kung Fury 2 has popped up online and it's awesome. A must watch. Sandberg himself stars again as Miami martial arts cop Kung Fury, and Jorma Taccone apparently stars as his nemesis A. Hitler. This 10 minutes of footage is proper badass! Here's hoping they get the legal issues sorted and debut this in theaters in 2025. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Full Trailer for Murder Mystery Series 'The Survivors' Set on Tasmania

MetFilm in the UK has unveiled an official trailer for Lollipop, a drama from social realism filmmaker Daisy-May Hudson. This premiered at the 2024 Edinburgh Film Festival in Scotland, and opens in the UK this summer in cinemas nationwide. Horror B-Movie 'Gator Lake' Full Trailer About a Bloodthirsty Alligator
"One lake. One gator. Zero mercy." Brainstorm Media has revealed the official trailer for a horror B-movie called Gator Lake, apparently inspired by a true story of events in 2003 at a real lake in Florida. This first premiered last year under the original title Lake Jesup, and it was also given the full title Lake Jesup: Bonecrusher's Revenge. Not the first vicious alligator movie - there was Crawl a few years ago, and the original Lake Placid as well, time for another one. Florida's Lake Jesup is the most densely infested alligator lake in the entire United States - known by locals as "the place to take your mother-in-law to water ski." This is the story of 13 hellish days on the lake in 2003. Desperate to end the slaughter, Florida authorities made the only logical choice they could: they went to Bubba Coggins, a beer-guzzling, refrigerator-sized ex-con & professional gator wrangler with a checkered past and a knack for kicking ass. His mission? Hunt and kill Bonecrusher to earn redemption... and maybe impress his dead wife's BFF. Starring Sarah Voigt, Danny Nucci, and Derek Russo. Yep this looks as ridiculous as it sounds, but also entertaining enough to watch. // Continue Reading ›onfs.net - Bonkers 4DX Promo Trailer for 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' Horror

This is the 6th movie in the FD horror series so far. In the 1960s, a grandmother predicts the collapse of a building and saves a group of people from death. With DP Christian Sebaldt. This is such an unsettling promo - I don't want to die while watching the movie! I'm not a fan of 4DX, but I know many other people love sitting in these moveable chairs. "This game takes and it takes... the game's finally giving me something back!" Apple TV has unveiled an official trailer for a new sports comedy series called Stick, which they're hoping might be the next big hit following Ted Lasso. It has potential! The series is described as a "heartfelt, feel-good comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before." Also kind of funny this arrives right around the same time as Netflix's Happy Gilmore 2 this summer. Owen Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi. "Gunmen or loggers will kill me for anything." Horrifying! All because they're defending their own land. An official trailer is available online for an inspiring documentary film titled We Are Guardians, following the Indigenous forest protectors of the Amazon. After playing at film festivals for the past 2 years, this is finally ready for release in theaters this summer. A poignant portrayal of the diverse group of native people who endeavour to save what is left of the Brazilian Amazon. It dissects the economic drivers that fuel large-scale environmental destruction, while exposing the corruption. These "guardians" risk their lives to fend off illegal loggers and land invaders. Shot in a close, character-driven vérité style, the film explores the complex intersections of politics, history, economics, and science, shedding light on the actual global implications of deforestation in one of the world’s most vital ecosystems. It's extremely sad. Yet despite the tragedy, the film is trying to be a powerful story of hope and resilience amid an unfolding environmental crisis, as the Tembé and Guajajara people persist in their struggle to preserve their ancestral lands. "El Sergio is backo!" Blue Fox Ent. has revealed an official US trailer for a fun French action comedy called The Gardener, finally getting released in the US this summer. We posted the original French trailer for this film last December because it debuted streaming on Prime Video only in France earlier this year. The movie stars Jean-Claude Van Damme as Léo, an enigmatic gardener whose skills extend far beyond landscape maintenance. The story draws viewers into a murky affair of political elimination orchestrated by high level government. Serge holds a state secret. He, his family, and his gardener Leo appear on a government death list. They attempt to devise a plan to stay alive while mercenaries hunt them. The cast includes Michaël Youn, Nawell Madani, Carla Poquin, and rapper Kaaris. It is sort of a John Wick riff, about a simple guy who's actually an assassin. Though it seems more like The Beekeeper with JCVD. It looks exceptionally dumb - even the action isn't exciting. And this trailer has awful English dubbing on top of the French.
