- Friends, I recently passed 10,000 followers on this platform! Welcome new followers, and it's wonderful to share all things planetary with you! To celebrate, this is one of my favourite space images: Neptune and its giant moon Triton, seen by Voyager 2 after its flyby in August 1989.
- Around that time, my parents did an after-school program for our school called “Young Astronauts.” My dad had a friend who was connected with someone working on Voyager 2 data processing, and they got us some of the very early Neptune pictures (sent via snail mail)…
- I can distinctly remember how much our third-grade space nerd minds were blown away when my dad opened the envelope “from NASA,” and showed us actual pictures of another world.
- Great week for fitness. Walked 27.8 miles this week, dropped 4.2lbs (which is a bit much, but makes up for a few plateau weeks), and this is the first week in a couple of years where my VO2 max is “above average.”
- Looking forward to getting under 200lbs, at which point I can start adding some running into the mix. I hope to be there by the middle of June.
