- A federal Concealed Carry Mandate (CCM) would gut state gun safety laws and allow people with dangerous histories—violent criminals, domestic abusers, even convicted stalkers—to carry hidden, loaded guns in public in states that wouldn’t otherwise let them.
- House Republicans snuck a discount on silencers into their 400-page tax bill. This move would gut a common-sense provision that has been in place for nearly a century.
- We’re excited to endorse #MayorsAgainstIllegalGuns members Paige Cognetti, Ed Gainey, and Matthew Tuerk for re-election in Pennsylvania. Their commitment to preventing gun violence in their communities has saved lives.
- A six-year-old boy was shot and wounded in an apartment in Dallas, Texas. Authorities say a couple was fighting when the man pulled a gun and shot at the woman, but missed and hit the child. Easy access to guns fuels domestic violence.
- Kelsey Elem, a 25-year-old Black trans woman, was tragically shot and killed by a man she was dating last month at her home in St. Louis, Missouri. Kelsey was training to be a nursing assistant and was a fierce advocate for the trans community. Loved ones described her as a “shining light.”
- “You can't have public safety without the community. To defund organizations like this across the country sends a message that you don't care about the safety of the public.” - Armen Henderson, founder of the Dade County Street Response (DCSR)
