It is a sufficient answer to anyone who brings up Lincoln and the Civil War around the habeas corpus comments that the guy running the executive branch is not Abraham Lincoln and we are not in the middle of the Civil War

Not only are we not in a Civil War, and Trump is not Lincoln, but a sizable part of the movement in support of his suspending habeas corpus earnestly wishes the Confederacy had won and their ancestors were quite happy with John Wilkes Booth. So yeah . . .
Wasn’t so long ago that white supremacists called Lincoln a tyrant. Now he’s precedential?
