I need to post more on Reddit!
If only they gave us API access. It would be a great addition for Publer.
Does any of you know someone at Reddit HQ who could help?
We're ready to pay (big) bucks for Commercial API Access.
Source: I've given Elon Musk $1M (so far) for X API.
424 new paying customers only last week 🤯
Still no clue where they come from and/or why specifically 😶🌫️
We may have simply stepped on a gold mine 🤷🏻♂️
The good news: we're getting 300+ new paying customers every week 🔥
The bad news: we don't know where these customers are coming from 😅
^ one of the main pain points I will solve in my next startup 🫡
The customer lifecycle shouldn't be a nightmare for SaaS and should not require multiple tools.
Or maybe we just genuinely deserve it? 🤗
I was today years old when I learned that AWS offers cheaper S3 tiers 🤦🏻♂️
You can set S3 lifecycle rules to move old content to cheaper storage, i.e., after 30, 90, and 365 days.
We will see how much this will save me from my current S3 bill of $4K/month ...
If you followed my guide, important updates:
This did not age well!!!
Glacier storage classes do not allow you to GET retrieve the files🤦
Wasted the entire weekend restoring the files and responding to the affected customers.
I now have to copy the restored files into the Standard storage class so the new lifecycle picks them up.

Standard-IA and One Zone-IA are cheaper than Standard and support GET requests.
UPDATE: Switched One Zone-IA with Glacier Instant Retrieval thanks to this good soul on the internet.
And don't forget to enable Hotlinking Protection for your CloudFront through AWS WAF -> Web ACLs.
A few years ago abusive users were uploading porn to our CDN (through our app), and then serving those videos on their websites.
Porn, very popular, very costly.
Lost around $20K within a weekend.
