seriously, yeah. I'm an OK but extremely amateur gimp user (I wish they had called it literally anything else), and I can't even begin to guess at the workflow for removing the Break behind the other layers and reinserting them. I am awed.

I wish I'd learnt how to do digital art in any kind of structured way. I've kinda just been groping around through online tutorials when there's any particular thing I'm trying to figure out how to do. according to a pro digital art friend who looked at my layers, my process is "fucking horrifying"
May 14, 2025 07:45most people's is unless they spend time learning organization practices as its own thing tbh. one of the hardest things i struggle to get students to really start doing is thinking of their projects as cohesive projects with stages and structure outside what you see on the canvas
