- True story: When I was a contractor at a NASA facility I kept M&Ms on my desk. A civil servant I worked with ate a few one day. The next day I came in to find a pound bag on my desk. He wanted to "reimburse" me because he didn't want the few he ate to be seen as a gift. Anyway
- What a lot of folks don't know is that many (most? all?) ethical codes include language about avoiding even the *appearance* of unethical behavior. The presidency doesn't have an ethical code as such, but JFC, this ...?!
- Just sitting here on the tarmac at JFK because “our departure corridor takes us through Newark that’s been having those staffing issues you’ve probably heard about.” Small potatoes compared to the fascism, ruin and misery, but one more reminder that everything Trump has touched has turned to shit.
- It's too bad that the term "enshittification" already has a useful meaning. Although the things Trump and the rest of the GOP are doing could be seen as the spread of the enshittification dynamic into government.
- “FDA Commissioner Marty Makary is sending signals that FDA will likely not authorize a COVID-19 booster vaccine this year for children, and perhaps not for the general population as a whole, saying he “cannot, in good faith” recommend booster vaccination for children.”
- Maybe he can’t recommend it in good faith because - as a member of the Trump administration - he’s unable to do *anything* in good faith.
