The big problem with homelessness is there aren’t enough laws against being homeless.
Breaking News: Governor Gavin Newsom called on California municipalities to outlaw homeless encampments and clear existing ones.

Newsom to Ask Cities to Ban Homeless Encampments, Escalating Crackdown
The state of California and the glory of its legal petty crime was an issue in the last election. Can you imagine what would happen if CA turned red? This won’t solve homelessness, but it will make cities safer and cleaner. I have no solution for the cause, btw, and am sympathetic.
An aggressive approach (red) is a short-term solution and unsustainable. Deal with the cause for homelessness and not criminalize it with a community commitment (blue) is a more sustainable approach. Be it "red or blue" does not get resolved without funding to back it up.
I agree but the issue has been unsolvable up to this point and I am not sure any amount of money can fix a large portion of the homeless population. I also don’t think moving encampments out of the city is red. Red would be putting them in the middle of the desert and filming their survival.
May 12, 2025 21:12What an interesting analysis on the red. It s too bad the officials don t have underground caves to chase the homeless down into like rats as they do outside of Las Vegas...now that would be red.
