So I go on YouTube hunting for someone I "know" in Cornwall from her eventing vlog, hoping for a fun video of her Badminton Grassroots experience, but find myself (minus that) wandering into a channel where people call in with money problems (why???) and fall into someone's very serious problem.
May 9, 2025 04:36And am once again reminded of my own mother's courage in the midst of world & personal chaos. She was pregnant; husband wanted a divorce bc he thought someone else was also pregnant. After a terrifying and could've-been-fatal experience, she left him and drove--in wartime--1500 miles back home.
That was in '44, during WWII. Saved both our lives. I'm praying that the terrified woman whose shaking voice I heard on YouTube a bit ago will find her courage and get her and her very young kid away from her boyfriend. Safely. My mother died 35 years ago. Woman of courage in every way.
