I find it very funny that the richest men in the world are all simultaneously destroying the businesses they bought and yet the strongest narrative still remains "they are rich because they are business geniuses"

What these “geniuses” are ignoring is the fact that authoritarians tend to have short memories, no loyalty, and thin skins. Genuflecting once may get you in the door, but to you have to continue. Showing spine is certain death.

It might be due to the fact that only empathy-deficient narcissists and sociopaths are capable of hoarding wealth like this, so they don't see these traits as negatives. Authoritarians and billionaires are just two sides of the same coin, one is obsessed with money, one with power.
