The alternative to Trumpism is not let's agree to treat some people as second class to placate the bigots. On that, I'm a hard no.
If America is waking up, my primary concern continues to be whether trans people's resistance will be a symbol of the need to resist tyranny, or if our humanity will be a negotiating chip to paper over divisions among factions.

The alternative to Trump is not “let’s agree” etc. Would have been easier to parse with quotes.
