Yes, that's me
- Mostly just putting this out as an earnest attempt to understand. I get why the right wouldn't like AOC, but a pocket of the left doesn't either, & I'm trying to understand why. Not enough info on my part. Too center, would let genocide happen anyway (so I hear)? Is this just the left eating itself?
- Purity politics imo And not the "good" kind.
- “Sinners,” the horror movie from the director Ryan Coogler, is on a pace to collect at least $330 million in worldwide ticket sales, a level reached by few original films in the genre.

- I won't call you racist but you definitely are ignorant lol With all the shit going on as you claim, then it probably would've been wise of you to not post this initially. Follow your own advice man.

- ...this seems like a you problem then. The trailer also could've told you that, but there are ratings for a reason.
- Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for your measured response. The vampire and « The Thing » tropes were added because they’re things audiences enjoy. It was a good film, I’m glad it’s doing well. Have a great day 😊
- "The Thing?" Like John Carpenter's the thing??? I love that movie but that did not even cross my mind. That's a coincidence, not a direct correlation of trope inspiration. Maybe you should look at the behind the scenes on this because it provides a lot more nuance than that. If you want.
- To be fair, vampire tropes are common in most films but I've seen plenty and don't know any like this one. The last vampire movie I watched was Nosferatu, and I enjoyed it. But this movie was more than just vampires, so there's meaning to it that may not resonate with you and that's fine.
- The issue is people have gone out of their way to be pedantic about their dislike of a movie that most people enjoyed and others are tired of that attitude. I don't know you so I can't say that you are being that way, but there are plenty who are being that way so it's gonna keep happening.
- Every day, Sinners continues to provide two public services: 1) Incredible statement for original films and for creative control being held by the artists over the executives 2) It reveals to the public more and more that the trades are vapid propaganda rags for the studios.

- I told the people next to me that there was a post credits scene so they stayed. There are quite a few who did stay
- This is the same author who was like "it didn't make it's budget the first week, it probably will flop" I didn't even bother reading this one lol
- How NY (Times) have changed.* 'Sinners' Is a Box Office Success (With a Big Asterisk) Ryan Coogler's original horror film was expected to sell a strong $46 million in tickets over the weekend, enough for No. 1. But its profitability remains a long way off. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/b...
