Maybe not Russia - maybe Putin's Russia.
Just like we are America, but Trump's America really, really sucks.
It's not the same really. Putin's russia is the real russia. While America will be different in 2 years or 5 years... russia will always be the same. They have been that way for hundreds of years. They are deeply misanthropic, nihilistic and hate all personal freedoms and humanity.
The Alexei Navalny's of Russia might disagree, but they have had centuries of history living under tsars and dictators.
Alexei Navalny had deep connections with the far right and nationalist circles in russia, so I am not sure how he would've turned eventually if he had the chance. They had one politician who was a great guy - Boris Nemtsov, but of course putin killed him immediately after he became a threat in 2015.
I had read that he starts out that way. But he sure had more courage than I can imagine, speaking out against the corruption and kleptocracy there. Watching how many Americans are willing to live under an autocratic dictator when we have a much longer history of democracy tho.....😭
