- Hoping someone in the #KidLit sphere can help me out here - if, for example, an agent doesn't specifically state that they're open to YA or MG but are open to fantasy, does that mean I can send them YA fantasy? Or should I just stick to those specifically open to YA or MG? Thank you! 🙏🏼
- I'd stick with those that represent YA/MG. Kidlit is very different from adult so you want agents that have experience and editor connections in that Kidlit sphere. Agents that only rep adult fantasy may be less familiar w/ kidlit editors and have less knowledge of YA/MG comps/trendsMay 7, 2025 14:17
- That sounds sensible, thank you.
- There's definitely more crossover with YA and adult these days, so I think you'll find a bunch of agents that take both adult/YA. Good luck!
