God, I’m tired of everyone in the world looking at higher ed workers and saying we just need to better communicate the value of what we do and why people should care about it.
That our problem is simply a communications problem. It’s not.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t effectively communicate our work. I just don’t expect that will shift the narrative about higher ed.
👏👏👏 The number of times I have heard “We need to tell our story better.” How many other industries have completely transformed nearly every aspect of millions of peoples lives thru education, research, innovation and community engagement?
Here’s my clear communication: Universities would collapse without adjuncts/contingent faculty but chose to marginalize, ignore, and pay them poorly.
