- A quick check of wookiepedia shows that there are an estimated 100 quadrillion sentient creatures in the Star Wars galaxy, and... a grand total of 10,000 Jedi at the start of the prequels. I think it's a safe bet to say that most folks never even HEARD of a Jedi, much less ever SAW one.
- Andor is doing a really good job making it feel like the Force was something that really never got around. It might as well not even exist in the setting its so absent and its great. It feels more unrealistic that anyone knew that jedis where even a thing.
- Also to be fair they were also a relatively small group when compared to a galactic scale. So it's kinda like every once in a while when folks find out about the silly pants and halberd Pope guards even down to the weirdly specific requirements en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_G...
- Also, the few surviving Jedi ran away and hid, instead of helping, until much later after regular people started the Rebellion.
